Google Alerts is keyword-based and unreviewed, so it's often noisy or off-target. A regular news app or a company newsletter/text list pushes whatever it wants to everyone who signed up — and once you've given a company your email or phone number, that's an open channel they can use for anything else, including reselling it. Baud lets you pick exactly which topics, world leaders, or events to follow, every AI-drafted alert is reviewed by a person before it reaches you, and turning a topic off is a single tap — no account to close, no list to be sold to in the meantime.

No. Baud works immediately after install using an anonymous device identifier — there's no sign-up, email, or password required to start following topics.

Yes. Each topic you follow can be set to Silent, Standard, or Priority. Priority alerts are marked Time Sensitive on iOS — a specific, documented Apple notification level that can break through Do Not Disturb and Focus modes. (This is not Apple's separate Critical Alerts permission, which is reserved for safety apps and which Baud doesn't use.)
